A Trip Of Historical Proportions

CAMPAIGNS

Stepping off the plane in Charleston, South Carolina, for the start of our 2019 Coast to Coast campaign, all we expected was good food and Southern charm, but what we discovered was a cool, eclectic, historic town.

Voted “America’s Most Friendly City” by Travel + Leisure we had a blast hanging with the locals at King Street bars, shootin’ pool and whiskey, and exploring beaches like Sullivan’s Island.

As one of the oldest cities in America, we had to check out Charleston’s bar scene, many of which have been around for centuries. We met up with our buddy Shep Rose and he introduced us to a few of his favorite spots, including the Commodore, Palace Hotel, and McCrady’s Tavern, a bar where George Washington himself enjoyed a 30-course meal (we can respect that).

One of the local bartenders told us to check out the Angel Tree, a 400-year-old oak tree. Never thought we would be in awe of a tree, but this thing literally looks like the home of Mother Nature. Worth noting here:  Don’t try to climb the tree, they really frown on that. One of our photographers may still be paying off his fine…

Admittedly a little slower paced, Charleston still offers an array of nightlife activities, comfort food, and excursions that not only kept us entertained, but also gave us a much-needed excuse to relax and recharge in Southern style.
